Looking at the quaint and genteel Franklin of today, it's hard to imagine some of the town’s sordid history.

But lynchings, public whippings and hangings, street corner shootings and assorted "activities of the night" are all part of the city's past. Many buildings served as hospitals following the Battle of Franklin, and some of them reportedly have strange visitors from time to time . . .

Guides wear period costume and carry a lantern to add to the atmosphere.

The Ghosts and Gore Tour covers about six city blocks and last approximately 90 minutes. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Cost: $15.00 per person, cash or check only. No children under the age of 14, please, due to the subject matter.

Ghosts and Gore Tours are conducted most Saturday nights through November, weather permitting.

Look for ghost-only tours in October, appropriate for the whole family.  Please call if you have a date in mind.

Private tours for groups of 10 or more are also available on many other dates.   Please call to discuss your group's needs.

All Ghost and Gore tours depart from the atrium area between Merridee's Breadbasket and Sandy’s Downtown Grille at 108 Fourth Avenue South in downtown Franklin. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (615) 400-3808.  Call now!  Many tours fill quickly!
